Can You Get People to Do Stuff?


I was driving with a senior leader in our organization. She asked me, "How would you describe leadership?"

I told her, it was easy to describe leadership. If you can get people to do stuff, then you have leadership. If you can't, then you don't have it.

Getting people to do stuff is also know as influence. it is the core asset of the leader. Even if you are not in a formal leadership role, if you have it, then you have leadership. This is a short talk for those who are interested in the dynamics of gaining influence.
